On Monday 2nd June, seven enthusiastic St Peter’s students, accompanied by Miss Sutor, represented our school at the Josie Mitchell Debating Competition, hosted by MacKillop Catholic College.
After a focused week of preparation, the team impressed in their first debate, successfully arguing that “Social media brings more harm than good.” While they narrowly missed victory in their second round, the students demonstrated excellent teamwork, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.
Beyond the debates, the day provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students from other schools and gain inspiration from the final debate between St Edward’s and St Joseph’s. Well done to all participants for their hard work and dedication!
