Open Girls Touch Football Tournament

On the 14th of February our Open’s Girls Touch Football team travelled to Doyalson to compete in the Broken Bay Touch Football Tournament. With a mix of talent across Years 10 to 12, we were prepared to compete to the best of our ability. Winning our first game 8-0 against Mercy there were a lot of positives, we were slowly getting the hang of playing a great style of touch football. A 3-1 win over Marta Maria saw us go into the game against St Brigid’s with some confidence, unfortunately we were a little too confident and walked away with a 3-3 draw, missing many opportunities to run away with the game. Our last round game decided the winner of our pool, with the winner going through to the grand final. Stella Maris were too strong and defeated our girls 4-0 in a very wet and scrappy game.

Sienna-Mae, Ainsley and Shayla were all successful in being picked for the possible-probable’s trial for the Open’s Girls Broken Bay side, with Sienna and Ainsley being successful in making the team.

It’s always a pleasure coaching a team where each individual wants to do their absolute best for each other and the team. Well done girls.
