RISE Students Officiate at State Carnival

Recently, nine of our Year 9 RISE students were given the incredible opportunity to officiate at the NSWPSSSA U12 Girls NSW Trials. This opportunity came on the back of the referees’ accreditation they completed last year through the RISE program – a testament to how the program is not only developing athletes but also building confident, capable officials who are already giving back to the game.
Congratulations to Sam M, Enzo C, Jett D, Maurie M, Luke S, Hayden B, Blake D, and Santos W, who all stepped up over the two days as referees and touch judges. These students displayed outstanding professionalism, skill, and maturity well beyond their years.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed, with both NRL officials and NSWPSSSA staff passing on the highest praise for their ability, attitude, and behaviour. It was clear that our students not only met the expectations of officiating at this level – they exceeded them.
This achievement highlights the strength of the RISE program at St Peter’s, where students are not only developing as players but also as leaders, role models, and contributors to the wider rugby league community.
