On Tuesday 6th May, our Open Girls and Boys Soccer teams proudly represented St Peter’s Catholic College at the CSBB Gala Day.
Our girls team played with spirit from the opening whistle to the final game, the girls displayed unwavering positivity, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship — values that truly reflect the spirit of our college. Ashleigh W stood out as a determined and fearless goalkeeper, while our forwards brought energy and tenacity to every contest. A special mention to Marley W, whose leadership both on and off the field ensured the team remained focused, motivated, and united throughout the day. While the final results didn’t fall in our favour, the experience was filled with laughter, resilience, and memorable moments. The girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the respectful way in which they represented our school community.
Our Open Boys team started the day in dominant fashion, recording a strong 3-0 win over St Paul’s. All three goals were executed brilliantly, and confidence was high heading into the second match against St Edward’s. Despite a gritty and high-intensity performance, the boys narrowly went down 1-0 in a tight contest. With limited recovery time and in very warm conditions, the team battled to a 0-0 draw against St Leo’s in their third match, showing determination and defensive strength. In the final game, the boys came up against a talented Mater Maria side and, despite their best efforts, were unable to secure the win. Congratulations to Dante M, Paul V, Jayden B & Curtis K who were selected in the Open Boy’s CSBB Diocesan team that is to represent at the NSWCCC trials later this year.
Both our boys and girls teams should be commended for their effort, attitude, and sportsmanship throughout the day. We are proud of the way they represented St Peter’s on and off the field.
