A word from our College Captains, Elijah and Jess
“During the last few weeks of Term 1, to raise as much money as possible for Project Compassion, our student leadership team held an Easter raffle and lolly guessing competition, whilst our SRC and JRC students also held a bake sale. This bake sale was very busy, with the conclusion of the Project Compassion activities marked by our inaugural Year 7 Disco. The whole day was busy, with our raffle winners being drawn, the bake sale and the Year 7 Disco to finish it off.
The SRC and JRC organised a bake sale during break 1, continuing to sell more items during break 2. The amazing team brought in cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and many other delicious treats. The bake sale took place in the Trade Training Centre, with the Community Cafe running alongside it. We are very grateful for the efforts of those who donated items and helped organise the successful bake sale. Your contribution truly makes a difference in the lives of others.
Our student leaders also organised a station in the library where students could purchase raffle tickets and guess how many lollies were in the massive jar. We are so fortunate to have a community that donated chocolates and Easter items for our prizes, and because of this generosity, we had 10 winners, all with great prizes. Our lucky winner of the lolly guessing competition narrowly won, with their guess missing the exact mark by only two lollies, beating over 80 guesses.
To conclude the term, the Year 11 and 12 Entertainment Team ran and organised the Year 7 Disco, with help from the Student Leadership Team. Mr Judge put in outstanding efforts whilst managing and organising the behind-the-scenes work. Our Entertainment Team had the opportunity to display our facilities and their technical skills, with excellent use of lighting, music and staging. The night was a hit where we had students, mascots and of course, our wonderful principals ruling the dancefloor.”
Congratulations to our leadership team, staff, students and our families, who collectively raised $3,104 for Project Compassion throughout these events!
