Forty enthusiastic students braved the wet weather to attend our annual excursion to the Sydney Writers’ Festival School Day at The Concourse in Chatswood. It was an inspiring and unforgettable experience!
They were captivated by the presentations of talented young adult authors Mike Lucas, Hayley Lawrence, and Demet Divaroren. Their insights into the writing process reminded us that imagination knows no limits, and that if you want to write, just start.
A highlight was the session with international bestselling author Neal Shusterman. He was a crowd favourite, and one excited student even shed a few tears upon meeting him and having their books signed. Many students and teachers purchased novels and had the special opportunity to meet the authors in person.
Of course, no school outing is complete without lunch, and students enjoyed a well-earned break at Westfield Chatswood.
We are sincerely grateful to the parents and carers who supported this excursion, and to the dedicated teachers who volunteered their time. More than just a day out, this event was a celebration of creativity, culture, and the written word.
