The Junior Girls AFL team showcased their impressive skill and teamwork throughout a thrilling day of competition at the recent AFL Schools Cup. Comprising a blend of seasoned players and enthusiastic newcomers, the team hit the ground running with a commanding performance in their opening match against Erina High School. The girls demonstrated exceptional prowess on the field, resulting in a resounding victory with a score of 107-0. Each player contributed to this overwhelming win, as nearly every team member scored at least one point, highlighting the collective effort and unity that define this remarkable squad.
The team’s performance was not just about winning games but also about demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship. Each player, from the veterans to the newcomers, exhibited a high level of respect for their opponents and maintained a positive attitude throughout the tournament. The seasoned players led by example, providing guidance and encouragement to the less experienced teammates. As the day went on, the newer players continued to develop their skills, showing noticeable improvement in every match.
We can’t wait for our next stage of the competition later in Term 3 where the girls will compete for State Final Qualification!
