Year 9 Geography students are studying urbanisation and the processes of change in cities. This year students did a walking tour of Mann Street and parts of Gosford to see the dynamic nature of our capital. We were able to witness areas of existing issues and to see the many active development sites (Archibald by Aland and The Waterfront) that indicate positive changes. This field trip was followed up by a talk from two Central Coast Council employers who spoke to students about their jobs as town planners and urban designers. Students were lucky enough to see the real-world aspects of this study and are now competing to design the best urban renewal design proposal for Gosford and the best plans will be shown to our contacts at Central Coast Council.
