On Friday some of our Year 7 and 8 Indigenous students represented Catholic Schools Broken Bay at the NSW RSL Indigenous ANZAC Memorial Service at the Anzac Memorial and Pool of Reflection in Hyde Park Sydney. This service forms part of National Reconciliation Week which takes place from 27 May – 3 June.
Zsa Zsa, Morgan, Ruby, Cienna, Lani, Makayla, Ella and Harmony, combined with other Broken Bay schools, performed the Welcome Dance of the ceremony. The students were filled with pride and did an amazing job representing not only their schools and the diocese, but also their ancestors. It was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the past and look forward to the future.
