Last Wednesday our Year 7-10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students participated in a weaving workshop.
Vicki Gale-Dadeigbo from Yara Waybarra talked about the materials and different weaving techniques used. The girls put their creative ideas together and produced some fantastic items, including baskets, bangles, earrings and dream catchers.
The experience provided an opportunity to have a yarn and to get to know other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across our school, whilst discovering our creativity and celebrating culture.
