On Friday 15th November, Year 10 students had the privilege of listening to Adam Smith, an inspirational speaker who left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. Adam shared his personal journey, detailing his experience with a life-changing illness and how he managed to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges through sheer determination and a positive outlook.
Adam’s story resonated deeply with the students as he spoke candidly about the difficulties he faced, from the emotional toll of his illness to the physical hurdles he had to overcome. What stood out most was his unwavering resolve to embrace life fully, no matter the obstacles. He emphasised the importance of resilience, self-belief, and the power of a supportive community.
The students were captivated by Adam’s authenticity and touched by his message of hope. Adam also encouraged students to identify their passions and take small steps every day to achieve their goals, even when faced with challenges. As Adam quoted Psalm 139:14 – “You are fearfully and wonderfully made”.
In addition to sharing his story, Adam engaged students in a Q&A session. His words served as a reminder that difficulties can be turned into opportunities for growth and that a positive mindset can make all the difference.
Adam’s story left a profound impact, inspiring Year 10 to tackle their own challenges with courage and determination. This memorable session was not only a lesson in resilience but also a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit.
