In Week 5, Year 9 Japanese students were greeted in Hero Sushi with a wonderful welcome (irrashaimase) and the food was delicious (oishikatta desu). Students tried a variety of sushi plates, it was well worth the experience – a real fun dining occasion. Students practiced using authentic language at the start (itadakimasu), end (gochisou sama deshita) and during the meal (oishii). Also, the service staff used lovely manners and our students thanked them (arigatou gozaimasu) upon leaving.
Students also used their authentic language at the local Asian Grocer, purchasing sweet treats including Hello Panda cookies, Ramune lemonade and other groceries. The students were wonderful and we look forward to our next opportunity to have Japanese food, which will be savoury pancakes (OKONOMIYAKI) later on in term 2.
