Last Friday, 16 students from Catholic Schools Broken Bay Diocese attended the Numeracy Gala Day with the The University of Newcastle, Australia in conjunction with the Newcastle Knights at Macdonald Jones Stadium. Students were involved in a day full of skills drills and problems relating to Rugby League and the numeracy skills required to undertake the tasks! Students learnt how to kick a try, time sprints, collect points on target, budget using salary caps to create their ultimate team, measure the volume in the recovery pools and estimate and measure temperatures among other things. Our students had a magical experience with the NRL Trophy and got to meet and greet with some of their favourite stars!
Jake, Jaki, Ruby, Santos, Harmony, Zsa Zsa, Cienna, Evie, Makayla, Lani and Morgan were great ambassadors for St Peter’s on the day! They had an incredible experience and completed the Numeracy Challenge. Cienna managed to take out one of the major prizes winning a bag full of goodies!
