Our Open Girls Basketball Team recently competed in the Broken Bay Basketball Championships. Our team played against six other schools over the day and achieved two well deserved wins. Our veterans in the team, Year 12 students Taya W, Jeorgia B and Chloe P provided energy on and off the court, made the most of offense opportunities and consistently provided tight defence against the opposing side. Most importantly, they brought a commendable level of sportsmanship that set an amazing example for our junior players. Year 11 students Brooklyn L and Charlotte S played an important role in ensuring our baseline defences were solid, and both girls were able to get numerous rebounds that our team could use to their advantage. From Year 10, our team were rounded out by Matilda C, Indie W and Marley W, who brought hustle and determination to their defensive game.
Most Valuable Player was awarded to Jeorgia B, whose consistent, solid, determined defence and offense supported the team to achieve its best. A huge congratulations to Jeorgia and the whole St Peter’s Open Girls team for pursuing excellence as sportswomen during each game they played!
