Exploring the Real-World Applications of Mathematics! Students in Year 7 and Year 9 recently had the exciting opportunity to discover how mathematics is integral to everyday life and various career pathways. Through engaging sessions, they learned from North Construction about the pivotal role math plays in the construction industry. Alumna Hayley from Cake and Plate shared insights into the daily use of math in her cake business. Additionally, representatives from the University of Newcastle highlighted the importance of mathematics in degrees such as Business and Marketing, and Exercise Science and Physiology. These workshops demonstrated to students the vital role of mathematics in real-world applications and diverse careers, emphasising its significance in achieving success.
