Book Week 2024 was a wonderful week, brimming with bookish activities and competitions that captivated our school community. Students loved the Matching Teacher with their favourite Book activity and the Lolly Guessing competitions with hundreds of entries. The festivities reached their peak on Thursday with a vibrant and joyful Book Week Costume Parade. Karinya was transformed during Break 1 as a parade of beloved fictional characters, brought to life by students and teachers alike, filled the space with colour and cheer. After enjoying delicious hot dogs prepared by our student leaders, the parade continued, showcasing our shared love for reading.

The day’s festivities created a wonderfully positive and uplifting atmosphere, a welcome contrast to the wet and cold winter we had endured. It was a perfect reminder of our deep appreciation for books and reading, and a shining example of the strong community spirit at St. Peter’s Catholic College.

The HSIE staff, dressed as characters from Wizard of Oz took out the 1st prize for best dressed teachers and the Adaptive Ed staff, dressed as Where the Wild Things Are, were the runners up. Honourable mention goes to Mr Sharpe, a Demon Slayer character.  Congratulations!

Best dressed duo was Andrew W and Beau G who looked very dapper in their Peaky Blinder costumes.

Best dressed student went to Ebony B, dressed as Mr Peabody, and runner up was Dominic W, dressed as a character from My Hero Academia.

Special mention goes to Thomas B & Co for amazing Top Gun costumes.

Best dressed groups were Ruby F, Jasmine L and Isla S, dressed as characters from the Croaking and Jacob S & Co dressed as Scooby Doo and friends.

The Hunger Games Minecraft Comp was won by Jax B. Grace C had the highest number of correct guesses in the Match Teachers with their favourite book Comp. Hannah S walked away with the lolly jar having guessed the correct number of lollies. Congrats!

The Book Trailer, Short Story and Create a Book Cover Competitions are open until the end of Week 6.Â
