What a glorious day for an excursion! On Tuesday 1st August, our Stage 5 Visual Arts students travelled to Sydney via coach to the Art Gallery of New South Wales for a day of art culture. Art Appreciation is an integral part of the Stage 5 Visual Arts Course and students are required to view, analyse, and interpret meaning from a range of artworks.
The students immersed themselves in the Art Gallery’s historic South Building and new North Building, visiting the 20th-century galleries and the contemporary ‘Dreamhome’ exhibition, showcasing works from both Australian and international artists.
The excursion was a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience original artworks and appreciate the incredible spaces in which they are exhibited, whilst collecting and gathering information and visual imagery on their favourite 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional artworks for their upcoming Assessment Task for Critical and Historical Studies.
We would like to thank our students for their exemplary behaviour and for representing our college so well!
