St Peter’s is proud to announce that Year 12 Visual Arts student, Tallis Burke has just received notification from NESA that he has been nominated for ArtExpress 2020. Our Art staff; Louise Tome, Nicky Oram and Amanda Purnell and Darryl Tome, wish to shout out a huge congratulations to Tallis for this nomination.
Each year around 480 bodies of works are nominated from the approximately 9,600 Visual Arts students. From this group only 40-45 students are selected by NESA to exhibit their work at the Art Gallery of NSW during 2020. We wish Tallis all the best in the next round of this selection process.
Tallis’ HSC Body of Work explored innovative macro photography techniques focused on capturing the colours and patterns which form on the surface of bubbles. The work consisted of 7 x 1m photographic panels, a 3 minute audio visual presentation, complete with original music, and a 70 page hard bound book which explored his theme of Genesis and Creationism. This is a snippet of Tallis’ incredible work titled “Abiogenisis”.
Congratulations Tallis and a big thank you to Mrs Louise Tome for her ongoing guidance and support for Art at the College.
