Over the past few weeks, our talented students have been proudly representing St Peter’s across the Central Coast and Greater Sydney in a range of sporting competitions – and what a run it’s been!
RUGBY LEAGUE: In Rugby League our U13 Boys made their debut, proudly wearing the St Peter’s colours for the first time! The U14 Boys showed grit and determination throughout a strong tournament campaign. The U15 Boys were the big improvers, finishing 2nd in the City Cup, narrowly losing the final by a single try – an outstanding effort! The U14 Girls dominated their way to the Isabelle Kelly Cup Grand Final, eventually going down to a tough Gorokan side. Our U16 Girls showed great patches of brilliance, but couldn’t quite pull it together on the day.
AUSSIE RULES: In Aussie Rules our girls were unstoppable! Both the Junior and Senior Girls teams won their divisions at the All Schools Cup and now progress to the next stage of the competition. The Junior Boys showed promising signs for the future. The Senior Boys proved once again why they’re always in the mix with the top teams.
SOCCER: In soccer our Intermediate Girls travelled to Manly to compete in the next round of the NSWCCC Championships. Despite a valiant effort, they went down to a very strong Stella Maris team.
TENNIS: A big shout-out to our tennis team who returned to the CSBB Championships in style – our Girls took out the Division 2 title! Well done team!
NETBALL: We’re thrilled to share some fantastic results from our Year 7, Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 netball teams at the recent All Schools Cup competition! Our Year 7 team played brilliantly and secured second place overall. The combined Year 7/8 team had an outstanding win in the final by just two points, taking out first place! Our Year 9/10 team also had outststanding results, coming away undefeated and through to the next round. We are lucky enough to have some very talented netball players coming through in our junior cohorts and they all came together as a team on the day displaying excellent sportsmanship!
With Term 3 shaping up for even more sporting action, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
