An Advent wreath is a circle of evergreen branches, with four candles that represent the four weeks of Advent. Three of the candles are purple, reminding us to pray and offer up little sacrifices to help prepare the way of Jesus. The candle for the third week of Advent is rose, reminding us to be joyful since the birth of Jesus is drawing near. Some Advent wreaths include a white Christ candle which is lit at Christmas Day, symbolizing Jesus, the son of God and son of Mary, born to be our Savior and Lord.
Today our students enjoy the start of Advent and you will notice our Advent Wreath displayed in our garden.
