Recently, we held our Year 8 Reflection Day, a fantastic event that enhances and compliments the unit of work students are learning this term in Religious Education called “The Battle Between Good and Evil”.
The day had guest speakers, games, simulations and group sessions designed to explore deeper the concepts of Good and Evil in Religious Education, and the practical application of these in student’s lives.
Masi Mobin “The Surfing Refugee” spoke of his journey fleeing persecution in Afghanistan and surviving the perilous boat journey to Australia, talking about spending 12 hours at sea clinging to a piece of wood, and immigration detention.
The day was a great opportunity for our students to learn and appreciate all they have, and that hope is needed if Good is to overcome Evil.
