On Tuesday 22nd November, the Year 9 Drama class hosted a performance night where they performed a series of monologues, theatre sports games, and a melodramatic performance for an audience of family members and staff.
Noah and Ashlee both performed hilarious monologues, showcasing their confidence and skills as individual performers. Maia and Isabella were chameleons during theatre sports games of Space-jump and Hitchhiker, improvising multiple different scenes and characters to show off their sharp wit and clever sense of humour. The night concluded with a class performance of the Melodrama script ‘Unhand Me, Squire’ where the leads Gabriella and Matilda crushed their roles as the ditsy damsel Fanny Adams and sinister villain Sir Jasper. Their preparation and ability to lead an ensemble performance with confidence and gusto was impressive and showed off the progress each have made throughout the year.
Sarah rehearsed amazingly during class and offered new ideas and aspects to the performance to take it to the next level, but sadly couldn’t show off with the rest of the class due to illness.
The progress and growth of the whole Year 9 Drama class has been so exciting to see as they have grown from shy individuals to a strong and confident performance group ready to captivate any audience.
