Today our Year 9 students were lucky enough to engage in an incursion about World War 1 with representatives from WW1 Living History. They had dozens of historical artefacts that were collected over years and donated by Australian families. The artefacts included periscopes for looking out over the top of trenches, weapons, tools, uniforms, everyday items and personal affects. The students were able to select different artefacts that they were interested in learning about, making the experience highly engaging for them. Their choices directed the speaker to explain different aspects of the challenges and realities of life in the battle fields. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
